Call for Articles and Speakers

SPEAKER PRESENTATION SUBMISSION

The ReiD Conference Committee is now accepting presentations for consideration as part of the educational conference being held in Atlanta, on June 15 - 18th.  On behalf of the ReiD Planning Committee, outlined below are details of an invitation to submit a presentation synopsis that will be reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee for potential inclusion in the ReiD Conference KnowledgeWorks and Work Group Programs.

Speakers and presentations will be selected based on varying criteria including: relevancy to the industry, timeliness, speaker experience, and how the particular topic blends with the rest of the conference program.  Generally, sessions run from 45 minuets to 2 hours. If you or someone within your organization would like the opportunity to speak at ReiD, please submit the information outlined below.

(To be considered, proposed presentations must be submitted by November 15, 2007.)

Please carefully review the following information before submitting a presentation:

  1. Each proposed presentation must be submitted separately. Complete contact and bio information must be included or your proposal will not be considered.
  2. Each speaker must submit biographical information limited to 100 words or less. Speaker name(s) and full contact information and a brief biography, including two references, outlining speakers' presentation skills. (This is not mandatory for the deadline date below yet will be required once seminars have been approved)
  3. Include a 100 word maximum description of the presentation.
  4. Include three learning objectives for the presentation.
  5. Indicate what type of instructional methodology will be used i.e. panel presentation, interactive/hands on learning, single speaker, etc. To consider for your proposal: Research indicates attendees prefer panel presentations, meaning 3 to 5 speakers (this would include a moderator or key speaker, if required) who will present a number of differing opinions and perspectives on the topic. Complete contact and biographical information for each speaker must be submitted.
  6. Indicate the learning objectives achieved at the end of the seminar i.e.) "At the end of this seminar the attendee will ________".
  7. Once a presentation has been accepted, you will be required to submit handouts by the deadline.
  8. Upon acceptance of a presentation, speakers are required to sign a release form authorizing the reproduction of handout materials and audio recording of their sessions. Sessions may be audio recorded and made available for purchase to conference attendees.
  9. All speaker costs related to attending ReiD, including travel expenses, are the responsibility and expense of the speaker. Reid will pay travel expenses for Key and Main Session Speaker participants.

Presentation Format:
Sessions may consist of a single interactive lecturer, case study presentation or a panel discussion. Time should be allotted for a question and answer period. Indicate if a PowerPoint presentation or other alternative audiovisual learning devices will be used. (PowerPoint presentations are not mandatory but research indicates attendees prefer them)
Most importantly:

Conference seminars may be valid towards continuing education credits for various organizations. It is imperative that seminars contain valuable and timely information and are not used as an opportunity by the speaker or the speaker's company to provide a "commercial" on your services and/or products. The presentation must be broader in context to include a variety of options/products/perspectives in order to provide the best information possible to the audience. This is your company's reputation in front of elite decision-makers.

Session Review:
All sessions submitted by the deadline of January 30, 2008 will be reviewed by the ReiD Conference Planning Committee. Should your session be selected for the  conference program, you will be notified no later than Feb 15, 2008.
